Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the WordCapy mobile app and this website. By using WordCapy you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Using WordCapy

You must be at least 13 years old to use WordCapy. If you are under the age at which you can agree to these terms where you live, a parent or guardian must agree for you.

You can use the app without an account. If you create one, keep your password to yourself and give us accurate details. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Our content

Articles, audio, translations, word explanations and questions in WordCapy are written or adapted with the help of AI models. We check them automatically, but they can still contain mistakes in language or in fact. Treat them as reading practice, not as news reporting or professional advice.

The app, its design and its content belong to us or to those who license them to us. You may use them for your own language learning. You may not copy, resell or republish our content, collect it by automated means, or try to extract the app's source code.

Your content

The words you save and the answers you write stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them so that the app can work for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

WordCapy Pro

The free version limits how many new articles you can open and how many words you can save each day. WordCapy Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription that removes those limits.

• You buy the subscription through the App Store or Google Play, which charge the payment method on your store account. The price is shown before you confirm.
• If a free trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
• The subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue them ourselves.

We may change prices or what Pro includes. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

Rules

Do not use WordCapy to break the law, interfere with the service, get around its limits, or access another person's account. We may suspend or close an account that does.

Ending your use

You can stop using WordCapy at any time. To have your account deleted, write to hello@wordcapy.com. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in your store settings.

No guarantees

We provide WordCapy as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that it will get you to a particular level of German.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of WordCapy, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms we update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using WordCapy after that, you accept the new terms.
